Daniel Lurie calls himself an outsider but is a billionaire heir who has surrounded himself with career politicians and socialites

  • Between 2011 and 2022, Tipping Point Community (TPC) spent a total of $26,290,663 on its annual benefits
    • This is an average of $2.39m a year for a single event
    • Tipping Point has had celebrity performers like John Legend, Run DMC, Prince and Third Eye Blind perform. 
    • TPC spent $600k in 2013 to get Prince to perform, and tens of thousands of dollars for smaller artists
  • Additionally, some of the prizes auctioned off at TPC events have included an Italian getaway hosted by Adriano Galliani (AC Milan soccer team’s CEO), VIP passes to a Taylor Swift concert, and a suite at the Super Bowl.

Daniel Lurie and Tipping Point have an extensive history of granting millions of dollars to corrupt nonprofits. He has funded the same corrupt non-profit organizations as London Breed that are under investigation for financial mismanagement.

    • In 2021, Tipping Point gave $25,000 to Collective Impact—a nonprofit now under serious scrutiny for insider dealing.
  • HomeRise
    • Tipping Point contributed to HomeRise 3 different times for a total of over 2 million dollars, a non-profit referred to the FBI for financial mismanagement.
      • Even after the city identified problems with HomeRise in 2021, Tipping Point gave them over half a million dollars.

      • Tipping Point funded United Council of Homeless Services even after the city released a 2017 scathing audit that found that the organization wasn’t keeping proper financial records, and ultimately referred to the FBI for investigation

    • Tipping Point donated $977,000 in 2020 and $779,000 in 2021 to Bay Area Community Services who is accused of inflating success rates at their drug/alcohol treatment center in Oakland and placing people in substandard, rat-infested living conditions to inflate their success rate

  • Conard House
    • Tipping Point donated $225K to Conard House in 2021 who is accused of ignoring scores of resident complaints about both the living conditions and their safety 

Daniel Lurie and Tipping Point’s only housing project at 833 Bryant St. is a failure 

  • Between December 2021 and present there have been 20 DBI complaints, including complaints of dog feces all through the building, electrical problems, elevators not working, flooding from sprinklers that were set off by a fire in one unit 
  • The project cost 25% more than Daniel publicly states since he does not include the land cost making it difficult to replicate or scale in San Francisco 
  • Runs afoul of local labor practices using prefabricated housing assembly from outside San Francisco 

Daniel Lurie’s campaign staff has a history of supporting Chesa Boudin

As the Chair of the Super Bowl 50 host committee, Daniel left the city with a $4.8 million dollar public safety bill

  • Daniel promised that fundraising would cover all expenses including the police. But a Jan. 15, 2013, letter signed by Police Chief Greg Suhr states that the department “shall provide all law enforcement and public safety services” at “no cost, expense or liability to the NFL or the teams.”…. The events in San Francisco are being organized and paid for by the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee, but the city will have to pitch in $4.8 million
